We surprised the kids on Saturday with a ride on the Pumpkin Express (it was cheaper then the Polar express). It was their first time ever on a train and they LOVED it.
We had lunch outside the train station and played a little before we were able to board the train.
All these guys are volunteers, but they sure come looking the part.
If you can't tell Goose was pretty excited!
She was loving not being strapped in for once, but is a little too busy to look at the camera.
The kids were free to go wherever they wanted on the train. This is where you could find them most of the time, front and center watching where we were going.
They fought most of the time who got to sit by the window-even though they all had a window seat!!
Loving the view.
It was a little scary having the windows so low and the kids not strapped in. I was a little on edge about them sticking their heads out the window, but they loved having the freedom.
Letting her hair blow in the wind.
There was a real conductor that came to stamp our tickets.
We got to go in the tunnel, not through. The other side is in Mexico. So, we went in, stopped, and then headed back the way we came.
Man this little one was so BUSY!
It was a little freaky crossing from car to car. The plates sit and move and you can see the ground passing underneath you. It didn't seem to bother the kids, just their paranoid mom!
The front luggage/lookout car.
Pretty awesome ride!
A train yard is a kids dream playground.
The train dropped us off at a pumpkin patch.
They had a couple haunted trains inside. This one was very mild.
This is the entrance to the other haunted train. Jer wasn't able to get one picture because the kids were terrified!! Leah hid behind him, Logan had his head buried in his should, and Landon was clinging to his leg. They were not fans of it at ALL.
We got to pick out a little pumpkin to decorate.
Goose didn't was to hold his pumpkin because he was holding the coveted ticket!!
They gave the kids little goodie bags with stickers for the faces.
Lacey kept pulling hers off and eating the pieces!
Did it all by himself.
She did too. They are getting so independent.
Logan made his own pattern.
The finished products.
It was so fun and definitely worth doing again next year!
