Hail, dinner, and stations.

We had a freak hail storm on Saturday! IT destroyed the vents in the attack and made the siding look like someone took a machine gun to it. I'm just glad we weren't out when it happened.

The kids helped out with dinner the other night. I love that they are turning into such good helpers! They also love when breakfast burritos are on the menu!

We have been watching Ultimate Beast master on Netflix and it inspired the kids to do some exercise stations when I sent them downstairs to play. They were down there for a good hour planning and prepping, even down to a water station. I just wish I had their energy!!

Blue and Gold!

I was in charge of the blue and dog banquet this year. Sadly Landon had the flu and was not able to attend. He had made his cake the day before so we still entered it into the cake decorating contest, and he won! He is loving scouts and it is something to keep him busy!

Valley Forge for Presidents day.

We finished our weekend in Philadelphia at Valley forge. As luck would have it there was all sorts of events going on in celebration of Presidents Day. We got our picture taken with George and Martha.

We made and decorated hats and had cupcakes for Washington's birthday.

And even got to join Washington's army.

George came around himself to inspect all the soldiers guns.

There was all sorts of fun to be had around the park and we took full advantage of it!

I think this is what the kids would like to dress up for Halloween and I think that it's a wonderful idea!

Checking out the rest of the national park and the log cabin replicas that were made during the winter encampment during the revolutionary war. We also ventured to George Washington's headquarters and the train station.

Philadelphia.

We took advantage of the long weekend and headed up to Philly. There were so many cool bridges(and tolls) along the way!

The kids were thrilled to be staying at a hotel and would have been happy there playing in the pool and relaxing on ipads the whole time!

Just outside the church was a building just for Goose.

The temple is right down town and the chapel for church was right across the street.

Church shoes when mom doesn't pack for you anymore.

Keeping entertained during church without the church bag.

We explored the city after church starting with the Liberty bell.

The kids loved all the dogs and horse carriages along the sidewalks. Jer and I joke that we have to remember trips based on the dogs that we meet along the way not the sites that we see.

Independence Hall the building where both the United States Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution were debated and adopted.

City Hall were Washington was sworn in for his second term in office.

The bell tower where Liberty bell hung.

We walked the street of Philly for a little and it seemed like the further we got from the main historical building the scarier it was to have the kids in Philly. We meet a lot of crazy and homeless people along the way.

The reading market for Philly Cheesesteaks, but it really felt like a dirty swap meet of food.

Finished the day off with the Museum of Art or better known as the Rocky steps. This was more for Jer! WE had the kids watch the little clip from the movie so they had an idea of why we were there.

We burned off some energy running up and down the stairs.

The statue of Rocky which there was a line for pictures... that we refused to wait in!

We headed back to the hotel for dinner and some pool time. It was and busy, beautiful, and exhausting day in downtown Philadelphia.
