We took advantage of the long weekend and headed up to Philly. There were so many cool bridges(and tolls) along the way!
The kids were thrilled to be staying at a hotel and would have been happy there playing in the pool and relaxing on ipads the whole time!
Just outside the church was a building just for Goose.
The temple is right down town and the chapel for church was right across the street.
Church shoes when mom doesn't pack for you anymore.
Keeping entertained during church without the church bag.
We explored the city after church starting with the Liberty bell.
The kids loved all the dogs and horse carriages along the sidewalks. Jer and I joke that we have to remember trips based on the dogs that we meet along the way not the sites that we see.
Independence Hall the building where both the United States Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution were debated and adopted.
City Hall were Washington was sworn in for his second term in office.
The bell tower where Liberty bell hung.
We walked the street of Philly for a little and it seemed like the further we got from the main historical building the scarier it was to have the kids in Philly. We meet a lot of crazy and homeless people along the way.
The reading market for Philly Cheesesteaks, but it really felt like a dirty swap meet of food.
Finished the day off with the Museum of Art or better known as the Rocky steps. This was more for Jer! WE had the kids watch the little clip from the movie so they had an idea of why we were there.
We burned off some energy running up and down the stairs.
The statue of Rocky which there was a line for pictures... that we refused to wait in!
We headed back to the hotel for dinner and some pool time. It was and busy, beautiful, and exhausting day in downtown Philadelphia.
