Botanical Gardens, Capital, Air and Space museum, and D.C. Temple lights.

Botanical Gardens on the Mall. We would have never gone, but the Anderson's invited us to tag along and we were glad we did! It was a bit hot and humid inside so it made it a nice break from the cold outside. Loving all the Christmas trees.

All the kids would run ahead so it was usually Lacey and I playing catch up.

This is the reality of most of our pictures!

A room of poinsettias.

All of their structures were made of plant products like leafs, nuts, bark, etc. They had most of the building you find around the DC area and now that I am blogging I realize I was awful to document it. I blame the chasing of the kids for that one!

Mount Rushmore!

This gives you a good idea of what the structures looked like. They had a exhibit set up with all the national monuments in it and trains running around the top of tracks. Worth the wait in line.

Mandatory picture outside the capital on our way to the Air and Space museum.

My kids being the Washington monument.

The first museum that the kids were excited to see what was next. They don't always appreciate the things that we take them too...hopefully one day when they look back on it they will thank us!

Our final stop was the D.C. Temple lights. It not quit temple square and the kids were being pouty and grumpy, but it is one of my favorite traditions no matter where we live.

We ended up staying for one of the live performances and the kids loved it. Made a great end to a great day!

Walking through the nativity display from around the world. The kids loved seeing all of them and how different each of them were even though it's the same event!
