Memorial Day weekend 2017!

We stuck around for the long weekend and did some adventures near by. Government Island is only 10 minutes from us and it is somewhere the kids could spend all day exploring. They caught all sorts of frogs, bugs, and sticks:) 

The island is where they carved out stone and sent it up river for building of the capital and other structures. 

It was a great weekend spent with my favorite people! 

We swam a lot over the weekend and the kids had their swim test to make the swim team!!

They all passed and are now part of the hurricanes! 

Logan had been struggling all weekend to even make it halfway across the pool. The requirement to be on the swim team is to swim the length of the pool with no assistance and you can't touch the bottom or side. Jer and I had prepped him and ourselves that he would have to join the team later in the year, once he could pass the test. Landon and Leah did their test first and passed with flying colors. Jer was in the pool for moral support when Logan got in for his lap. He started swimming and it was the best I had ever seen him do, he made it all the way and looked strong doing it! We were so excited that he passed and made it to the end. Jer asked him after how come he did so awesome and he said "it's because I said a prayer"! I of course started to cry and was so proud of my little guy and humbled. My kids amaze me everyday with their faith and knowledge of our heavenly Fathers love for them. I'm grateful for the experiences that not only build their testimonies, but also mine!

Went to the actual movie theater to see Beauty and the Beast... should have seen baby boss for the kids sake! 

It's been hot so we got ourselves a little pull to keep up cool till the community pool open up!!

Playdough for the times that I'm done melting outside! 

Press Forward 5K Fun Run.

We had a fun run for the other ward to raise money for girls camp. Jer and I ran while the kids played at the skate park. There was a fun run for the kids once the adults finished. There was a warped wall which made for hours of entertainment! 

For the Kids run they broke them up into 2 age groups 5 and under and 6 to 12. Logan totally dominated his age group and walked home with the prize! Lacey was happy that she actually got to participate...and might have a little bit of my competitiveness! 

The older group started right after. Leah won first for the girls and Landon didn't shed one tear for not winning for the boys. I say that's a win in itself. They all got free chick-fil-a ice cream cones so everyone was super happy! 

The kids did their own little race after it was all over. 

Jer and I actually took first in our age groups 30-39. I'll take a win in running since I'm not fast at all!! Although, if you look close at my time there might have been some timing issues. 

We then spent the next hour hunting tadpoles and crawdads. It was a great morning!! 

Mother's Day 2017!

It was an awesome Mother's day full of yummy food, massages, nail painting, spa treatments, and and full on pampering. I just love this little bunch that calls me mom. This is one of the hardest most frustrating things I've ever done in life, but it is the most rewarding and joyful job that I could be blessed to have!

Jer bought a trap because we had something in our walls. I'm sure we caught what was in the wall, plus some more! 2 Raccoons.

And endless squirrels! The kids are enjoying the hunt as much as Jer is!
