S-A-N D-I-E-G-O
This last week Jer had a training in San Diego so we tagged along to get out of the heat. Sadly this is my first time there since we moved here, but it defiantly will not be the last. It was so nice to be out of the heat and be somewhere with stuff to do. Here in the valley there is literally nothing to do!
San Diego Zoo
We spent a couple of days at the Zoo. I went once alone with the kids and then we went again on Saturday with Dad. Even spending 2 days there we still didn't make it trough the whole thing. It's a good thing we bought season passes.
Birch Aquarium.
We spent a day at Birch Aquarium. It was pretty neat to see all the fish. They all sorts of fish and even had an area outside that the kids could touch live ones.
We got over to see the beautiful San Diego Temple.
I took the kids to the beach for the first time. They loved digging in the sand and trying to dodge the waves. If you look in the background of the pictures there are seals on the rock behind them. Logan loved the sand and water which I was surprised. He hates the grass and took a minute to warm up to the sand, but I had a hard time getting him out of it. He did n't even care when the waves came up around him.
It was tough with Logan because he still takes 2 naps, but didn't want to sleep at all in the hotel. Most of the time he would fall asleep in a sitting position. Poor guy so tired. IT was a busy week for all of us. I am glad to be back home in our own beds:) Not so happy to be back in the heat.
August!
I'm not sure where this month has gone. I feel like I blinked and August is half over. I even failed to wish my little sister a Happy Birthday. So, if you are reading this now Breck I hope that you had a very happy Birthday and I am super sorry that totally spaced it. Anyway, this month has been super busy. We are doing anything and everything to keep cool. We even managed to get over to San Diego for a week(I will do a separate post for that trip).
We love to skype with Grandpa. Here is Logan trying to get him on the computer.
We had a blast making sock puppets.
WE usually have pancakes on the weekend. Jer is starting to get all fancy with them.
We caught a frog living on the side of our house.
The end of the day usually ends up in a water fight. Its the only way not to die when you are out in the heat.
Swimming. I think we find ourselves at someones pool 2 or 3 times a week. One of the only ways that we are making it through the summer.

Swim lessons for the Lilos
I finally signed the kids up for swim lessons. They swim pretty good for never having a lesson. I think the lessons were more for me to have something to do with them, but I also want them to be strong swimmers not the controlled drown:) They are really confident in the pool and about gave their teacher a hard-attack the first day because they would just jump in without waiting for her. They have learned since and are really enjoying their lessons.
