There is a global pandemic sweeping across the US called COVID-19. There is no vaccine or antibiotic and it has been killing those that are at high risk. The Governor put us in a state of emergency. In an effort to minimize the spread they closed all the schools and we are suppose to quarantine ourselves. No public outings, no get togethers, no playdates etc. The kids will still have school work they will just be completing it online at home. The first couple of days were a bit overwhelming. There are several different apps for each child to log in and complete work plus their French. It took a minute to figure out where to log in and figure out what the assignments were. we celebrated St. Patty's day and made Leprechaun traps, no luck catching any this year. We tried to get out daily with trips to the bridge and bike rides around the loop. Logan kept us busy with science projects from his book. He loves activities like this and so does Lacey. It was hard to go to the store. Shelves were bare and there was hardly any supplies. The world is in total chaos and I hate the feeling! It was going well until Wednesday morning when we were woken up to an 5.7 earthquake. Everything was fine but we were all a little shaken given the already chaotic situation we were in. Jer still had to go to work and left me with the kids. There was talk on the news of another big earthquake and I panicked. I pulled the cars out loaded them with things that we would need and was ready to leave the house if we needed too. It did put the kids into a bit of a panic as well. I told them it's better to be prepared and have nothing happen then to have something happened and not be prepared. Jer's office had a lot of damage so they sent everyone home till they were able to asses and see if it was safe to be in the building. When he got home he laughed at me and told me I overreacted, I told him next time there a natural disaster DONT LEAVE ME! We realized it was time to update the 72 hour kids and fill our 55 gallon water drums. We have plenty of food storage and supplies aside from the 72 hour kits. The rest of the week was pretty quiet. We did some more science project, tried to get caught up with homework and spent a lot of time as a family. It was nice to have Jer here to support and help out with the new schedule were trying to figure out!
