Leg 3. Dan and Emily's.

We spent a couple days with Danny and Emily. It was super nice to not have to travel for a couple of days. SO fun being able to spend some quality time with Dan and Emily and their adorable family.

Lots of down time with the Xbox, and drawing.

Bounce houses for the win!

Their community pool opened and we were able to join them for their first time.

The kids had a Fooseball tournament and made metals to go with it.

So fun spending time with family and getting my baby fix in.

Leg 2. Carthage Jail and Nauvoo.

We made a little extra trip to visit Carthage Jail and Nauvoo. So worth the extra miles! It was neat to be where the Prophet had been and to see and feel the spirit.

The Women's Garden

The Mississippi river. It much wider now then when the Pioneers had to cross.

The ferry that they brought the wagons over on.

Had dinner outside the Nauvoo Temple.

Nauvoo was super kids friendly! Our first stop was the oxen wagon ride. The kids learned that the oxen are driven by works and were cheaper and easier to maintain while crossing the plains. One of the reasons they were used more then horses.

We also did a wagon ride with Horses as well.

The gun shop(Jer's favorite stop in Nauvoo).

We learned how to make bricks.

Saw Lucy Smiths home.

Got cookies at the Bakery.

Danced on the community center where Joseph and Emma would have done city functions.

Learned how to weave a rug.

We learned how to precess of baking bread.

Got to make our own rope.

Learned how to make a wagon wheel.

Got to make a mini horse shoes and got rings made from nails. The kids enjoyed every stop we made and it was humbling to learn how the pioneers lived and worked so hard for everything they had.

Leg 1. Coburns and Ark Encounter.

First Leg of our trip was Kentucky to see our good friends the Coburns. We spent Sunday with them and got to swim as well. The kids loved playing with their dogs and we loved catching up with old friends.

Our next stop was the Ark Encounter. It's a life size replica of Noah's ark. It's size was impressive! The inside was a bit disappointing. It was interesting to see how storage and caging all the animals would have looked. They had their interoperation of what animals Noah would have brought which included a lot of dinosaurs.

Logan did not like the sound of all the animals and the boat creaking as if it was at sea.

Kids were thrilled to pet the animals.

They even got to ride a Camel.

We let them pan for gems and fossils as well.

Live petting zoo. One of the kids favorite parts was the buffet that we ate at while visiting the Ark. Not to hard to please sometimes.
